Professor Interview: Sharing on NCS learning Chinese Language
We have invited Dr. Ka Yee Elizabeth Loh, the Assistant Dean (Knowledge Exchange) and the Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Education (HKU), to share the tips to Non-Chinese Speaking students about Chinese language learning. The interview has been uploaded to our Youtube channel. Dr. Loh talked about the importance of learning Chinese for non-Chinese speaking students living in Hong Kong. She pointed out that non-Chinese speaking students have a certain degree of difficulty in learning Chinese; but teachers can use lively and interesting teaching methods that are in parallel with activities. The curriculum design is also inseparable from their life experience. We should encourage students to participate more actively in the classroom. The school’s support and the parents’ trust help students feel that learning Chinese is a pleasure.
