Incredible Live Lecture by Professor John Richard Bond and Professor George Efstathiou
Date: 29/10/2025
Our CWCC Physics S4 students recently attended an incredible live lecture by The Shaw Prize in Astronomy 2025 recipients, Professor John Richard Bond and Professor George Efstathiou!
Honored for pioneering cosmology research , Professors Bond and Efstathiou presented their groundbreaking studies on cosmic microwave background (CMB) fluctuations. Their work precisely determined the universe's age, geometry, and mass-energy content, providing strong evidence for inflation, dark matter, and dark energy, solidifying the ΛCDM model.
The lecture offered deep insights: Professor Efstathiou discussed evolving dark energy, while Professor Bond explored photon, neutrino, and gravitational wave transport from the early universe, referencing ACT and Planck results.
This invaluable experience highlights the importance of acquiring knowledge in our fast-changing world. Don't miss out on future opportunities!
